Rodrigo Nunes

OWNER - OLÉ ACADEMY AND OLÉ FOOTBALL CLUB

Rodrigo Nunes is the Owner and Founder of Olé Soccer. It was founded in 2004 with the intent of bringing skill soccer training and player development to the area.

Today, with an average of 3,000 children aged 18 months up to 17 years old, Olé has grown to be one of the largest youth soccer organizations in Connecticut, with four locations of its own.

Rodrigo Nunes was a former professional soccer player, having played for one of São Paulo’s most traditional teams, Ponte Preta, as well as in the academy of Guarani, Mogi Mirim and Botafogo.

In the USA, Rodrigo Nunes also played in College for Sacred Heart University and later on coached at the same institution.

Rodrigo was a college Coach for over 12 years.

Rodrigo’s family is also extremely connected with soccer.

His father, Flamarion Nunes, was a former professional player for 15 years and a professional coach for 30 years. Flamarion played for Guarani, Cruzeiro, Botafogo and Sport.

Rodrigo’s brother, Cristiano Nunes, is today considered the number 1 Strength and Conditioning Coach in Brazil’s 1st Division, currently working at Atletico Mineiro.

Rodrigo Cruz

CEO - OLÉ FOOTBALL CLUB

Originally from São Paulo, Brazil, Cruz left his parents’ house at 13 years old to pursue his dream of becoming a professional soccer player.

In 2007, Cruz scored 8 goals in the U17 top league in Brazil as a rightback, on that same year he signed his first professional contract at only 17 years old. Cruz played professional soccer for 9 years in Brazil, Europe, India and USA.

“After 18 years working with soccer, the goal now is to use all the connections made throughout my career to help players play professionally and reach the highest level” – Cruz.

Cruz is the former Owner and President of the Semi-Pro team Atletico Atlanta (aka Ginga Atlanta), from Georgia USA. Atletico was the UPSL National Champion in 2020 after an undefeated season with 21 wins in 21 matches.

Similar to Olé Football Club, Atletico Atlanta’s goal was to help players move onto the next level in their careers, professional or collegiate soccer. During his 3 years at Atletico Atlanta, Cruz helped over 38 players get into universities in the USA and 32 players signed a professional contract.

In 2021 Rodrigo Cruz signed a contract to be the General Manager of the Rome Gladiators.

The Rome Gladiators were a franchise of the National Indoor Soccer League (NISL) that is the first Professional Indoor Soccer League in the United States to have Women teams, as well as Men teams.

As the GM,  Cruz was important in the growth of the league and in the team’s performance, with the Women’s team ending the NISL as the second best team in the nation, losing in the final. Two players from the men’s team signed professional contracts after their season in the NISL (MASL and USL Championship).

Rafael Rafa

Rafael has an extensive background in soccer. The former professional goalkeeper played in some of Brazil’s most traditional teams, as well as some clubs in Europe.

Before coming to Olé, Rafael was also an assistant coach of Puerto Rico’s national team during the Central America Games in 2010.

Andres Georgis

ASSISTANT COACH - OLÉ FOOTBALL CLUB

Andres Georgis started his soccer career when he was 7 years old, playing for 7 years at Club Cumanda, in Ecuador. He then moved to the USA, playing for Derby High School, becoming a Youth Soccer Coach after graduated. 

With US Soccer licenses, he conquered many titles as a Coach, working with Olé FC’ Academy since 2016. He also plays for SASL (Shoreline Adult Soccer League), an over-30 amateur league.

Now, as part of OFCCT Staff, Andres brings all his knowledge and experience to our training sessions and development.
